Our report of the year 2025
The year 2025 was marked by international tensions and shifting leadership across the globe. These developments have put pressure on the confidence of citizens and businesses, yet it is precisely this confidence that is needed.
The RvA works together with its partners in the quality infrastructure to build confidence in products and services and to strengthen the resilience of the Netherlands. In this context, closer cooperation and greater harmonisation of work, including at European level, are becoming increasingly important.
In these uncertain times, the RvA remains committed to a clear long-term strategy.
The Supervisory Board looks back on a constructive review process of the RvA Strategy 2026–2030, with a focus on information security and the use of AI. There is also great appreciation for the support provided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, for example for the sustainable transformation of the RvA into an information-driven organisation.
In the autumn of 2025, the RvA’s four-yearly peer evaluation took place. The Supervisory Board is satisfied with the results and greatly appreciates the efforts of all RvA colleagues. The points for attention form a sound basis for the organisation’s further quality improvement.
In connection with the expiry of her final term of office, we bid farewell to our esteemed Vice-Chair, Ineke Mastenbroek, in March 2025. The Supervisory Board is delighted to welcome Marleen Prins as a new member from 1 October 2025. The current composition of the Supervisory Board is excellently equipped to continue fulfilling its supervisory and advisory role in the future.
In 2026, we remain committed to a future-proof RvA, which contributes to a resilient country within a relevant and strong Europe.
Yvonne van Rooy
Chair of the RvA Board of Supervisors
2025 was a very good year for the RvA. We hope this also applies to our customers and to the trust that citizens and businesses place in us. Our work is not always visible, but it is the driving force behind the trust in the quality of products and services.
As a non-profit foundation, we ended this year with a modest financial surplus. More important still is the contribution of our work: the value we add to the overall quality infrastructure.
We are convinced that the quality infrastructure makes a unique contribution to improving the prosperity and resilience of the Netherlands and Europe. Everyone is well aware of the need for this.
The 2024 reports by Draghi, Letta and the WRR, like Wennink’s more recent report, provide a boost to innovation, re-industrialisation and the strengthening of our resilience.
In December, the RvA organised a conference entitled ‘Resilience and prosperity: the challenges for the TIC sector and accreditation’, which addresses this topic. In this public report, you can read what the four speakers at this conference had to say.
You may have noticed that the format of our public report has changed in recent years. This report, too, is concise and therefore easy to read. We hope it encourages you to get in touch with us if you have any questions. We are open to discussion!
We hope you enjoy reading it.
