The review of the board
In 2025, we improved the strategy and established it for the coming years.
Over the past year, the RvA has revised its strategy for the period 2026–2030. This was done in consultation with colleagues, the Supervisory Board, and stakeholders. You can read the new version below.
A few aspects of this revised strategy stand out. By nature, we are regulator, service provider, and expert, and we are emphasizing these roles more clearly. These roles provide clarity within the organization and externally. In this way, it helps us clarify our role in complex circumstances.
We aim to add social and economic value by increasing the use of accreditation as a supervisory tool. Furthermore, we intend to use accreditation more frequently as a powerful trust mechanism for B2B transactions. In doing so, we strive to provide excellent and accessible services.
We’re building an information-driven organization that can continue to invest, innovate, and grow. By using modern technology (AI), we aim to improve the quality of our work and productivity. Information security is paramount.
As a regulator, expert, and service provider, we are competent. Our people continuously develop their skills. We are proud of everyone’s contributions and, together with our stakeholders, make a difference. We conduct thorough and risk-based supervision. We have in-depth knowledge of accreditation standards and the TIC sector and are well-informed about developments from the government and the European Commission.
We also use our expertise to support our stakeholders, develop new value propositions and contribute to harmonization and innovation.
In this way, we contribute to a reliable and balanced Dutch and international quality infrastructure in which public and private supervision reinforce each other.
At the RvA, we act consciously based on our mission and vision. The mission, vision and strategic plan are regularly discussed with colleagues, the MT and the Executive Board. With new colleagues, explicit attention is paid to the significance of the RvA’s work for society and in economic trade.
‘Citizens and companies want to be able to have confidence in the quality of products and services. With accreditation, we enhance that confidence.
We assess the competent, consistent and impartial operations of companies and organisations on a daily basis. These companies and organisations test, inspect and certify. They play a crucial role in the quality of products and services. We carry out our work in a professional, transparent and unbiased manner.
We confirm our confidence via an accreditation declaration. This contributes to a sustainable and well-functioning international society, with open trade and room for innovation.’
