Developing powerful teams

The RvA has also been confronted with the dynamics and scarcity in the labour market. Fortunately, we have succeeded in attracting sufficient new employees.

Effort

The usual volume of inflows and outflows of employees had an outlier in 2024 due to the dynamics and scarcity in the labour market. This required efforts from the HR team and from all colleagues who guided the new colleagues during the onboarding processes.

Fortunately, we have succeeded in attracting enough new employees. The labour market demands more creativity and flexibility in finding and retaining the right people for the RvA and the conviction that we offer people a great job at an interesting company.

Knowledge and development

There are many opportunities for personal development within the RvA, and employees are happy to make use of them. There are also regular knowledge sessions. In 2024, for example, we organised a discussion on the General Administrative Law Act.

In addition to this, Lead Assessors hold departmental meetings to share the latest developments and working methods. In mid-2024, we organised two large knowledge sessions for the Technical Assessors of ISO 15189. This standard has been updated and has a number of new aspects. These sessions were set up by our colleagues and were very well attended.

Powerful Teams

All colleagues are part of Powerful Teams. These teams form the basis of the organisation. There are regular meetings where they discuss mutual cooperation.

In the Powerful Teams, we place more ownership among our colleagues and in the team. Making an explicit link to the strategy increases awareness of the significance of our work. There is a noticeable increase in new creative ideas that contribute to the organisation of work and thus to the organisational objectives of the RvA.

Involvement

The involvement of our colleagues is an important success factor. The working atmosphere is pleasant and most people enjoy their work.

We begin every Monday with ‘Coffee Time’, a moment where we share ‘live’ and ‘remote’ news and developments, important matters and fun events.

Over the past year, for example, we have often paid attention to the topic of Information Security.
